Ha ha, i dont think I have posted a journal entry in over a year, way over a year. I have been way too busy to keep up w DA, and now i am studying abroad and dont even have regular access to internet. So I'm out. I may show up again this summer, but then again maybe not. It was fun while it lasted i guess, and recently I have hit upon another creative streak, so maybe I will have a deluge of stuff to post in a couple months. Peace.

i noticed you took [my icon] there, bub. haha yeah i made that & used it as my icon in [iSketch]. my screenname is mmm_potatoes for that game (not to be confused with mmm_tomatoes, a kid who copied my username. yes, i am the original. hmm, looks like i start a few of trends, eh), but im assuming you probably know all that already.

well thats cute of you. as long as you didnt submit it as art, putting it in your gallery to claim it as yours. ill take it as a compliment instead. glad you liked my work =P:aww:

well, now that i have some more time on my hands, I am gonna get back to you on this.

I'm a little confused. You say you made this, so you painted it or what? Because even though I made this my icon at least 18 months ago, this is how I remember the icon coming about:

I nabbed the photo off of famouspotatoes.com (idaho potatoes' website) resized it in photoshop and slapped it up. I have never been on isketch, and had no idea it was anything other than a marketing photo (if it is).

Now I haven't put anything really new up on devart since july 2002... I have been too busy with college, and now studying abroad with no internet except at internet cafes, to really participate at all in the DA community for the last year+.

If you could enlighten me on the real origins of this icon (in case it was really made by you, in whatever capacity, and not by some photographer being paid by the Idaho Potato Commission) I would love to hear it. If you want me to ditch it, thats cool too, i never claimed any credit for it in the first place, but just give me a good reason.

Sorry if I am a little skeptical, but you were what, like 14 when I started using this icon? And you were sure I was an isketch participant who was familiar w you or your work in some way in the past. Which I wasnt, So I just dont think it's any more than a coincidence. That said, I did see your work for the first time like 5 minutes ago, and I do like it. So compliments on that, esp. lisanthiums and helmet still life. Keep up the good work and maybe some day i will have enough time to get back into painting and DA (not that my stuff was ever that great anyway).

thanks for the commenting! i didn't use a reference but i still think i need more practice on the figure. i never noticed the problems with her face til you pointed it out. and the hair is supposed to not have strand definition cuz i wanted it to look wet.
